Client's concerns: "This is my son's first car. I scanned the car & it came up with Steering Angle Sensor."

Diagnostic findings: We confirmed the steering codes & informed our client that the 2 steering codes were History codes. We also were able to search the previous maintenance history to find out it had 4 new tires & and alignment done a few months ago.

Inspection: Moving on we inspected the engines for leaks, dry rotted belts. To which this car is in great shape. The only things we found were spark plug due for service. As well as no information on the last oil change. We assume it was done at the same time of the times, which puts it at 5,5XX miles.

The Fix: We scheduled the car to come back in for a tune up & oil change. Now they have peace of mind knowing that he is in a well-maintained vehicle.

The idle was also high. Quick fix!!! The A/C control was left on Max A/C, but the air doesn't work. Turned the A/C off and engine idled down to normal.

Chevy 1500 with break failure waiting for ham auto to arrive
2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5.3L in for Diagnostic of failed brakes
June 25, 2026

This morning our client had a low speed "fender" bender in Charleston. Reported that his brakes worked but not well.

Inspection: Front- Passenger side outer brake pads were 2mm and the inside brake pad was at 4mm-5mm of life. The brake caliper slide pins moved freely. Point of failure: brake hose. Over time your rubber brake hoses break down and collapse inside creating a 1-way check valve. Which will allow the brake fluid to flow one way but not the other. This can cause the brake caliper to hang up. Excessive heat equals brake fade.
Rear- Driver rear brake caliper had 1 frozen caliper slide pin. This causing the caliper to not compressor or release properly. Which also causes brake fade.

The Fix: Since our client is a First Responders. We got him set up with a set of front Raybestos police brake pads for heavy duty use. Paired with a set of O'Reilly Auto Parts Brake Brest Select Pro Brake Rotors. For the rear Brake Best Select Pro Pads & Rotors.
Now he doesn't have to worry about failed brakes. Especially when on call or off duty with his family in the truck.

Inspection: While pulling it in we heard the sound of a chirping coming from under the hood. We found that there was no bird nest. Instead, we found that the driver side turbo shaft had play in. While the passenger side turbo blowoff valve was wasted. Allowing it to have a rattle noise.

The Fix: All new OEM Ford Parts going back in. We also scoped the engine to see how well it looked since we had it apart to find all well inside the cylinder wall.

We finally got all of the parts in for this Rad 1959 Chevrolet Apache

May 18, 2026

We rebuilt the front suspension & steering with all new O'Reilly's Auto Parts tire rods, Borgeson gearbox. We serviced the 4L80 transmission and replaced the leaking rear main seal. Next, we replaced the rear nonadjustable coil overs with a set of QA1 adjustable coil overs thanks to The Mullis Camp. Beforehand the truck was bottoming out while driving down the road. Now she has that old-school stance racked to the front just slightly.

Inspection: We found that the exhaust mufflers were not secured to keep them from banging around. Secured them with the hangers that were in place. Onto the loose battery cables. With the use of a hamms beer cooler & a ICT Billet LLC battery tray. We relocated the battery from under the cab to the bed of the truck. Making it easy access to replace or jump start. As well as securing the wiring inside of the frame rail.
